I chose Yaks Youth Center, because at the time my child care option ran out and I needed a reliable provider for BOTH of my children, and YYC had openings for both of them. YYC was also highly recommended.
I had so much fun at YYC and I made countless friends. The environment is really welcoming and it’s generally just a great place to be.
We chose Yaks Youth Center kind of in a quick and desperate time. We had been bringing our baby to OFO when they stopped the baby care all of the sudden, then scrambled and found a stay-at-home mom who volunteered to take over but then suddenly returned to work as well. All the daycare centers were full and we needed someone ASAP. I went to a couple of home daycares and I knew as soon as I met Heather and saw how wonderful of a relationship she had with the kids there and also her own children I wanted my kids to be surrounded by that.
We chose Yaks Youth Center because they offer much more than your average daycare. Heather and her staff go above and beyond planning activities, experiments, day trips, and making amazing meals. If the kids ask for it, Heather does her best to make it happen.
I loved when we had waffles for breakfast and tacos for lunch.
Our son has always been excited to tell us about his days at the center. The first summer that our daughter went to the center as well they always had a story to tell about a trip that they had gone on or a project to bring home for us.
I loved being at Yaks Youth Center!
I liked all the field trips and activities we did, there was never a boring day.
Each day was a fun learning experience. Summers were always exciting and my kids got the chance to participate in fun things that the city offers that I could not bring them to during work hours, like swimming and tennis lessons. There was also a deep sense of community and family.
My favorite activity was playing educational games from pbs on the computer with my friends.
